Washtenaw Area Mutual Aid Council

In emergency services, mutual aid is an agreement among responders to provide assistance across jurisdictional boundaries when incidents exceed local resources, such as large-scale disasters or multiple-alarm fires.

The Washtenaw Area Mutual Aid Council (WAMAC) currently comprises 22 member fire departments, serving all of Washtenaw County as well as portions of Western Wayne, Lenawee, Monroe, and Livingston Counties. WAMAC also fosters collaboration with support agencies and other emergency response organizations to support fire and rescue missions.

The Council meets on the first Tuesday of each month, except in July and August, at Michigan Works! Southeast loacated at 1201 E. Ellsworth Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48108.
